APP Penang Open 2026 launched
PENANG, MALAYSIA — Penang is set to welcome one of the biggest moments in its sporting calendar as the APP Penang Open 2026 arrives from 22–26 July at Pickle by the Sea.
For the first time, the globally recognised Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) Tour will bring its international circuit to Penang — marking the biggest international pro pickleball tour to ever set foot in the state.
The APP Penang Open 2026 marks the second stop of the APP Tour in Malaysia this year, following the resounding success of the Leapmotor APP Kuala Lumpur Open 2026, held from 9–14 February.
The Kuala Lumpur edition drew an impressive 1,760 participations, earning a place in the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Participating Pickleball Tournament in the country — a clear signal of the sport’s rapid growth nationwide.
Building on that momentum, Penang is set to raise the bar even higher.

World-Class Competition by the Sea
Set against the scenic backdrop of Penang’s coastline, the tournament will feature a dynamic mix of professional and amateur categories, bringing together elite athletes, rising talents, and passionate community players.
More than just a tournament, the APP Penang Open promises a vibrant festival atmosphere—combining high-level competition with a unique “pickleball by the sea” experience.
Bigger Names, Higher Stakes
Fans can expect an even more electrifying lineup this time around, with newly signed APP players such as Asia No.1 Quang Duong, Harsh Mehta, Roos Van Reek, and Phuc Huynh joining the tour.
They will compete alongside some of the APP Tour’s established US powerhouses, including Jack Munro, Megan Fudge, Sofia Sewing, Richard Livornese Jr., Casey Diamond, and Tanner Tomassi.
Adding to the star power is Simone Jardim, one of the sport’s all-time greats and former world No.1 (2016–2020), bringing legendary pedigree to the courts in Penang.
A Defining Moment for Pickleball in Malaysia
The APP Penang Open 2026 is more than just a competition—it represents another major step in positioning Malaysia as a key hub in the global pickleball ecosystem.
With increasing international participation, growing local communities, and world-class events, the country continues to solidify its place on the sport’s global map.
All eyes now turn to Penang for what promises to be another landmark event.
